Devils drop UA volleyball in 3 sets

The in-state rivals are split 1-1 this season as a result of Sunday's battle in Tempe.

The Arizona volleyball team lost to the Sun Devils in three sets (22-25, 17-25, 23-25), giving the two teams an equal conference record.

It could have been the nerves from the match's live broadcast on FSN Arizona or even the rowdy ASU fans who gave the Sun Devils (12-11, 3-7 Pacific 10 Conference) an edge over the Wildcats (13-9, 3-7), but UA head coach Dave Rubio said the loss was a result of certain pressures coming from within the squad.
